Holistic therapy begins with you. You’ll work with a trained practitioner, but your commitment and level of dedication to the program are pivotal to your success. Holistic recovery involves changing from the inside out, altering perception and thoughts so you may heal and stay healthy going forward. Alpha Healing Center utilizes several methods to help you reach this goal.
Holistic Recovery Techniques
Integrative Medicine Therapies
Sometimes called mind-body therapies, these methods strive to integrate your body, brain and behavior to achieve a healthful balance that does not require drugs or alcohol to sustain.
Meditation: Our practitioners will train you in the art and science of connecting with your inner self.
Recovery Yoga: Yoga practice allows a person to become engaged and in tune with their body, which is vital to recovery. The practice gives the recovering person tools to assist with intense emotions and stress in the moment, and this aids in relapse prevention as a tangible means of coping.
Our innovative therapies at Alpha Healing Center include brain health training, brain music therapy and biometric stress management, designed in collaboration with Brain Resource®. Addiction is a disease of the brain and we treat it as such. Our Brain Health Training Program begins with a 30-minute brain health assessment and progresses to 28 different brain health exercises, including interactive online training games, to assist our guests with long-term recovery.
Activity and Fitness
Because holistic recovery includes the body, Alpha Healing Center also promotes an active, physical lifestyle. You’re not required to run marathons, but we encourage you to include at least 30 minutes of activity each day as recommended. A healthy and active body promotes self-confidence, improved sleep habits, stress reduction and social involvement – all powerful tools in combating addiction and achieving recovery.
